Equities/Bonds Trading
The trade with shares of Bulgarian public companies occurs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange – Sofia (BSE) with the help of licensed investment intermediaries. After selecting an investment intermediary, you need to sign a standard contract for provision of broker services. In order to enter relevant data in the contract you will be requested to provide your ID. After the contract is signed and issued in two copies, one for you and one for the investment intermediary, it is time to file the “sale/buy” order.
If you wish to buy shares, you need to deposit the relevant amount of money in cash or in the bank account of your broker. The transaction’s value is indicated in the order and depends on the price and number of shares. The specific price of your “buy” order is in your judgment and can be influenced by the information provided by the BSE bulletins.
If you wish to sell shares, you need to present the deposit receipt that verifies your ownership over these. The “buy/sell” order is also issued in two copies and signed by the two parties.
Beforehand you need to get acquainted with the investment intermediary’s Tariff for Fees and Commissions in Transactions with Bulgarian Securities that can be found on an accessible and visible place in his office.
BSE-Sofia works between 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM every workday. This is also the time when your order can be performed, changed, or canceled.
Changes and cancellation of still pending orders can be made on the phone, but until the end of the investment intermediary’s working day you need to sign the new documents personally.
If your order is already implemented (something you can learn on the phone after 1:00 PM), you need to sign the confirmation for the transaction within seven days. If your order was “sell”, after the deal’s settlement and confirmation’s signing you can instantly receive the money in cash or in your bank account. If your order was “buy” and was implemented on the initially set price, after signing the confirmation you just need to pay the specified commission.
